At 0218 hours, Glenolden Fire Department (Station 05) along with Rescue 43 (Holmes), Folcroft Fire Department (Station 01), BLS Units 02-7 & 04-7B, Medic 100D, Glenolden Police Department and various surrounding police departments were dispatched for an accident with entrapment at W. South Avenue and Harrison Avenue. The Glenolden Police were first on the scene reporting an accident with 2 entrapped, vehicle turned over into the creek. Upon arrival 05-9 (Chief McGowan) requested a rush on PECO, the vehicle had severely damaged a pole supporting high voltage power lines.
Crews went to work extricating 2 individuals just after the 20 minute mark. These individuals were transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center with a Trauma Alert. The swift rescue was possible because of the strategic teamwork by all emergency personnel.
